If a girl I like says "I'm glad we're friends"?

We usually have some deep conversations. She has told me these past weeks about how important I am for her, that she frequently thinks about me, she misses me... Recently we've talked about how connected we feel to each other, as a mutual thing, and soon after that she said that she's so glad that we are friends.

I was starting to fall deeply for her. And because of the other things I mentioned and her body language I thought she could feel the same (leaning towards me, head tilting, constant glimpses at my lips... Some of those signs).

The friends thing sounded strange to me, so what is your opinion about how could she feel about me?
