Why would a woman make interest clear and try to get noticed, but spend a whole lot of energy pulling away?

She made it obvious she's into me but would have lots of mixed signals. She acted really reserved and aloof, and though it seemed like a bit of strategy, it also conveyed emotional reactivity and a lack of confidence.

She would spend a lot of time avoiding eye contact and avoiding conversation, but if I went cold and pulled away a little bit, she would sometimes be in a funk for days.

When a girl acts like that (craving attention but constantly pulling away), is that a big red flag that she has emotional issues, and possibly has something going: maybe something like borderline personality disorder (very thin skin, sensitive and easily hurt), or maybe something like fearful avoidant attachment style?

Or she is from conservative home and doesn't want to seem easy and slutty. It's like "I like you" but "don't think I'm crazy and that I'd start flirting myself. I am taught it's dirty and that's not me. I'm a pure person with no bad things in life. You must first respect me for me to be able to accept your courting and offering an asking out".

I mean it wouldn't be odd if that is what is the case.

Could be.. this is how a lot of women play hard to get but it could be something else. Maybe ask her if she wants to go for coffee and see where the conversation goes
