A lot is down to level of risk that each will take and need for boost from driving.
this is obviously a generalisation.
17-25 males are some of the highest risk takers with driving.
The big problem, is they take risks without the knowledge and experience to mitigate those risks.
women in that same age range just do not take the same risks and this greatly influences the overall stats.
Far more guys are really in to cars, whereas girls see it as an A to B lump of metal.
Men are however statistics aside, better drivers, as a lot of driving ability is down to spatial awareness and ability to rapidly (blink of an eye) do things like react, overtake, distance between to cars, gaps to park in etc.
Women are not as good with spatial stuff as guys, which makes them less able to quickly handle tasks where this ability is required.
couple caveats, this is all generalisation.
my ex wife holds motorsports Race lice cars and also to instruct new race drivers track skills etc. She (and my ex girlfriend) beat a bunch of us guys 8/10 times on the track, she does however suck at parking.
i also Mod on a car forum and we have a lot of women petrolheads, so never assume a girl does not know about cars..
When I was younger, girls were far better than the boys. As I've gotten older I've seen more and more women be bad drivers.
I won't say it is gender specific, I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Instead I'll say people who can't focus on driving because they are looking at their groin are the worse drivers.
Even if they are sitting at a stop light, looking at their groin... by the time they go and floor it to get through the light all the vehicles behind that sat at that green light now run the light red to avoiding waiting for another cycle, after all it wasn't their fault that car sat there.
Now it leads to a crash, and/or the people coming the other way who now have to wait at a green light due to so many running it, they end up doing the same thing and if someone is staring at their groin there... same problem. Before long everyone is just running lights left and right and its chaos.
It is a domino's effect that the first domino thinks no their problem.
From my pickup where I can look down, I see many people (usually younger but not always) enjoying the view of their genitalia while either driving or stopped. One time someone was doing it at a 4 way stop and no one was around. I came up from another direction, saw the car there with the guy staring down... waited a few seconds and thought, must be broken down... then started to go and he suddenly just stepped on it without even looking. He assumed that cause he sat there that anyone else coming up would wait for him to go, as he was there first... he assumed wrong cause I thought he was broke down and had car problems.
P. S. I'm being sarcastic on looking down I know it is always phones they are staring at.
Lol, I'm a bit offended by that thought. I consider myself at least as good as most men that I know. I'm pretty much a "car girl" (got that from my dad), and I learned to drive on a Triumph TR6 with a stick shift, and most guys I know can't even drive a stick shift. I recently bought a new Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0 with a 6 speed manual stick shift, and I've been to 2 different High Performance Driving schools to learn how to experience the Cayman's capabilities, and I've done 2 Track events in which I was faster than all but a couple guys. I'm very safe on public streets, but I'll put my driving shills against any of the boys, and I can get it done in a miniskirt and high heels, lol!
Honestly driving is much more of a personality trait.
My boyfriend and I have never gotten a speeding ticket. He drives the speed limit in the middle lane, which I think obstructs everyone else. I drive the speed of the road and pass on left lane when I need to get somewhere.
Have I gotten pulled over more? Sure. Once because my tail light was out and once because my beams died. These are hardly things that are my fault - more, I just wasn't as diligent about scheduling repairs.
Car insurance thinks men aged 16 -34 are considerably more at risk for accidents and charge higher rates.
That’s because they’re a lot more male drivers so overall seems like more but actually if you look at the real numbers for the 10 groups of women versus 10 groups of men women are far worse driving they do stupid shit press the break make a U-turn don’t think it’s all of this actually has to do about the brain in biology woman or not good in looking at 3-D. But you’re a woman so all that is nonsense to you.
Indian and Iran has 99% male drives even though it seems like chaos when you’re driving the accidental rates are extremely low.
@MJtheCoach I don't care about India or Iran, because trying to find accurate and reliable statistics for those nations on a topic like this is often very difficult, to say the least. In the West, where most of us here live, the evidence is clear and unequivocal; men are lousy drivers. Speaking from personal experience, I can truthfully say they are far too aggressive, do stupid things (like get drunk and then drive), drive far too fast, and generally carry on like loons. We need to ban them.
Yeah you don’t care about anything that contradicts your horseshit all you care about is you’re a woman and you must be right and you must deny anything that’s opposing your horseshit.
@MJtheCoach No, when it comes to horseshit, that's your specialty. The EVIDENCE, such that there is, clearly indicates that of the two genders, males are the truly dangerous ones on the road. That's just the reality, the truth, and if you can't deal with it that's your problem.
You do realize that for your EVIDENCE to be valid it needs to be done on the right scope, not some tailored numbers made to make a point that has never existed.
How many men out of all male drivers get into accidents and how many women out of all female drivers get into accidents. That's how educated people make statistical comparisons comparisons the total number of crashes by gender is overlooking the fact that the number of drivers is not even:
50 women 20 accidents 100 men 30 accidents
In this example there were more male accidents but women get into 40% accidents and men into 30% making women 10% more likely to get into an accident.
@Chriscunning Well, perhaps if they would swerve more effectively they wouldn't end up crashing. Why are they not able to properly control their vehicles? Knowing how to avoid potentially dangerous situations is one of the things I was taught when I went for my licence.
Sometimes, I see how my Aunt drive and that is our last meeting eachother since her family went to our Grandparents house in other country but about your question yes sometimes because when My Uncle let my Aunt drive since his teaching her how to drive My Uncle was holding on the side of his seat so tight because he know that my Aunt is a Fast learner and of course Fast Driver its like we call Women worse drivers because they Sometimes scare the whole body and soul of Men when Women drive 😆 I ask my Uncle that day when my Aunt's driving lesson is done and he said "Oh Goodness your Aunt got me a heart attack she can't slow down"then ny Aunt was laughing and she said"Hon Im sorry 😅" but still Why didn't feel what my Uncle felt when I was with them I was sitting in the backseat and Im not wearing seatbelt but for me I felt My Aunt was a good driver and she was driving slow, 😅.
There's a reason car insurance was far cheaper for women than men (until EU legislation banned insurance companies from discriminating) - they cost insurance companies more on average.
Statistically speaking, women are involved in significantly more accidents, but they're typically very minor (eg. parking dings), meaning they don't cause much damage, and the insurance companies therefore don't have to pay out much.
On the other hand, men are overall less likely to be involved in an accident, but far more likely to be involved in a serious accident (which costs the insurance companies more).
That pretty much matches the stereotypes - that women are safer, more careful drivers, but have poorer spatial awareness and can't park / reverse.
It was literally taught in school that male and female brains are not similar.
By this token women can multi-task better than men but they have a weaker space and distance awareness. Basically a woman sees a wall that seems far to her but in reality she's close to it and that's how most accidents happen, this is why women get into more accidents.
(These are average cases, of course you have a woman x who is a better driver than men abcdef, and a man y who is a better multi-tasker than women abcdef)
Such things don't have something to do with gender or race or something like that. It is true that there are more make drivers than female ones but it doesn't means they are good at it. There are bad female and male drivers too. It depends who does it with more concentration and less distractions.
I'm sorry the sentence should be "It is true that there are more male drivers than female ones " not make drivers. I'm sorry if this confused you don't mind it. Just a silly mistake.
To become a pilot, you have to learn everything about airplanes, how they work what all their systems are and what they do. To become a driver, you don't need to know anything about the machine you are operating. Knowing about the machine you are operating makes you better at operating said machine. More men than women know about or have and interest in cars and that tends to doing a better job operating the car. It's not that women can't know everything about cars, some do and they are all sexy in my book. But most don't care, at all. So my hypothesis, is that on average men tend to be better drivers because they understand the machine they are operating more frequently than their female counterparts.
Many men think a person is good at driving a person than a criminal driving. On the contrary, I think that those who risk less drive better. So woman usually risk less and often drive better. Men drive better when conditions become uncertain, that is, on new and more difficult terrain than usual, where there is a risk component. This risk component it is also in setting of competition like Formula 1 driver, Rally championship or similar. Therefore, in normal driving, women are better, men are generally worse. This is always true until the moment of parking, in which things are usually reversed.
If it still are like the past 40 years. yeah. many are due to their own attitude.
Who with any common sense thinks they can both use their phone and drive, put on makeup, change clothes, making other thing's than driving safe. This is a common behavior that many female's think they have super powers to do when they doesn't. even claims science says they can that wasn't really about driving or that was just something someone did write somewhere. In the past did female's have higher percentage of accidents than males as a group due to those attitude problems I mentioned.
In different countries have they have campaign targeting female's about that to change their reckless attitude in traffic to make it safer for everyone.
Most women are horrible, dangerous drivers that really have no business being on the road. I live in Los Angeles which is at certain hours just a giant traffic jam: pull forward 8 feet, stop. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum, ad nauseam. I also drive two different cars with manual transmissions, and going a bit uphill, they tend to roll back a little when first going forward, especially when I have done this all morning long in a traffic jam. When a man is behind me, he usually gets it very quickly and stays 3 or 4 feet back so as to avoid bumping. Women *never get it at all*. The other day a woman got out of her car to ask me why I "kept deliberately backing up and trying to hit her." I tried to explain, then just gave up and changed lanes. Women.

Unfortunately yes. Statistics back women as safer drivers, but how reliable is that data when most law enforcement are men and give women breaks from tickets they would enforce on a man? Most of the unsafe and aggressive drivers I have seen on the road are women. They are the ones who seem to be less likely to be courteous and let someone over. They tend to focus on stuff other than the road. They are on their cell phones more. I have been to almost every part of the U. S. and this does not change anywhere I go. I bet the statistics would be much different if the law was enforced equally for men and women.
If you're going to talk about serious accidents like what the statistics said then sure that may be true but in reality, those minor accidents like unparalleled parking or that can block the way, scratching someone else's car, breaking something or etc. happens way more often and mostly done by women. And they're not really recorded because they're not that serious but still happens a lot more
Me compared to my boyfriend, my boyfriend is the better driver but he actually drives race cars competitively, so not really a fair comparison lol. Me compared to other drivers (male and female), I'm a better driver than most of them. A lot of times, I see a horrible driver on the road and it turns out to be a man driving, so 🤷♀️
When young and middle aged, up to around 50, women are often worse drivers, but after that age many men become worse drivers. That especially applies from what I have seen IRL when driving a school bus for hours every day. It is usually young to middle aged women that cut off school buses, tailgate, and weave in and out of traffic lanes. The old men tend to not know where they are going so they drive 10 to 15 mph below the speed limit and leave their turn signal on for multiple blocks.
I can't say who are the worse drivers, men or women. I can say that I've seen several women putting on makeup and brushing their hair while driving... I've never seen a guy do that.
Also, women tend to use their phone more than men do, although I've seen both while driving.
Men, here in California, from my experience, tend to be the bigger assholes, driving. I have only had to Pepper Gel, one asshole man, and never pepper gelled a woman driver, although, the women must be trying to play catch up
Biggest complaint here is with the moron, tailgating, and driving too fact in heavy traffic. I recently moved up to carrying Wasp and Hornet killer as an asshole repellent. Haven't sprayed anybody with it yet, but the time is coming.
Kangaskhan is known as a Parent Pokémon. She resembles a large dinosaur with elements of a kangaroo. Her baby is often seen in her pouch. When Mega Evolution is activated, the adult remains unchanged physically, while the juvenile emerges from the pouch and increases in size and power.
I've rode with girls who could fucking braid their hair text and eat breakfast while driving and never been in a wreck.
Then there's my wife who has also never wrecked but can never go over the speed limit and can't talk while driving on a highway lol
Everyone's different and driving is a skill that not everyone is gonna be good at or even comfortable with. But in general I have noticed women are about the same variety of men drivers, with a few better and worse exceptions.
Generally yes. Mechanical aptitude, attention deficit, preoccupation otherwise, emotional reactions. Anytime you see a big SUV driving like a moron you can bet it's a woman. Every single fucking time. They are the bane of motorcyclists - them bitches will literally run over your ass and not even notice.
Women tend to get in lots of little fender bender accidents. Men get in far less but they are drunk, speeding, and talking on the phone. So it ends up being very severe.
This is because women in general take low risks but have bad spacial coordination (feeling the car as their own body, understanding where the corners are etc). Men are more likely to take big risks but have much better coordination
@bamesjond0069 I am not saying all women are like me but it’s true, I am not a bad driver as per say. I have never been pulled over but I do have bad spacial coordination when I drive sometimes so I agree with what you say.
Let's put it this way... My uncle is an incredible driver! Really amazing behind the wheel. My mother not so much. She is not very agile. My uncle already had several accidents and destroyed many cars. My mother never had an accident in her life. He is better, but she is safer. On average that's how it goes.
No. Statistically women cause far less severe accidents but more smaller ones without injuries. Women are sometimes distracted while driving if they have stress, men not that often. I think male single tasking is better for focusing behind steering wheel.
No about the same since I've been driving since 2008 I've seen everything now when I catch a bad driver their either disabled, have glasses, are really old. Sometimes I drive with someone with me in the car and every time I encounter a slow reacting or strange moving car I tell them I bet this person has glasses, is too old, or disabled and I'm mostly right. But it's about equal
i think it's like everything. If you care about your driving skills, you'll be a better driver. If it's just a task to you than you won't be. I don't think gender is an issue.
That said, I think there is more pressure on guys to be good drivers.

Depend on how you define worse. If it's who causes more crashes, women are indisputably the worst drivers.
@MrNameless Women are not safer drivers. They simply drive less so they get in fewer accidents. The study I linked is the largest ever done and it accounted for the fact that women drive less. What it found is that, per mile driven, women are involved in and cause more accidents than men.
However, when men do cause accidents they tend to be more serious ones. That's why I started out my comments with "depends on how you define worse". Worse in what way?
Men use worse judgment, but their driving skills are better. That is a proven fact.
It depends on what you mean by "worse". On average, men driving for Uber earn rnore per hour than women. They drive a bit faster and thus they complete more trips. Men in general have more accidents than women but that's because they drive more.

The best and worst drivers are men. Men are more likely to be driving stunts in movies or racing professionally, women are going to have a lower deviation and be more average, then there's a going to be a bunch dudes who a irresponsible and crazy who get into crashes. This will represent a large portion of crashes.
My friend was close to death 3 times in his life, the 3 of them were car accidents and the 3 of them he was passing the street and the 3 of them the driver was a woman, one of them instead of using brakes she covered her eyes.
If you're going to talk about serious accidents like what the statistics and then sure that may be true but in reality, those minor accidents like unparalleled parking or that can block the way, scratching someone else's car, breaking something or etc. happens way more often and mostly done by women.
Like what i said, it isn't really recorded. But you can hear it from anyone just like how the statistics are also made. I can say personally, i see few males getting accidents but when it happens, i hear it from someone like the statistics. I just hear it from you not seeing it in person. Now of course those are just anecdotes. It has something to do with women having more tendency to over think before moving and panicing which causes those so they maybe safer but can be really sloppy and slow. But here's another fact. If it concludes that men commits more driving accidents, its also a fact that men drives more often so that could be the reason why there are more male accidents. If women drives as much, it could be thesame. www.iihs.org/.../males-and-females
@Aiko_E_Lara Men suffer from an often debilitating and sometimes fatal condition of testosterone poisoning, which causes us to make stupid decisions and bad choices. I mean, it's fun as hell, but...
While a lot are "stupid" a lot also works. And thats a factor why more male drivers are hired because they get things done faster. Accidents may happen more on men just by comparison but its still rare among all male drivere
I don't like to generalise, but I've seen far more terrible driving from other men. I think that comes down to attitude and over-confidence rather than any lack of actual driving skill, but good driving is mostly about attitude in my opinion.
The biggest metric we can compare men and women against each other are accidents. Women in general are by far, safer drivers and less likely to engage in risky behavior. Speeding, drunk driving, road rage etc are less likely.
It's going to come down the individual mostly. My sister and mom actually have more accidents then the male side of my immediate family.
Don't try to multitask in the car. Don't eat, look at your phone, drive the speed of traffic/speed limit, use your turn signals, speed up when changing lanes if you can. Look in front of you. Just common sense really
According to the data from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety finds that many more men than women are casualties of car accidents. Over the course of a year, men represented 71 percent of casualties while women accounted for 29 percent.
Women are more unpredictable drivers- they might hit the gas, they might give you the right-of-way even when they should not. Men are more predictable- they generally floor it!
When men are young their usually awful drivers. women are usually better drives at that age, now when they get older most people in general become shitty drivers due to old age
Probably no worse at driving but in my experience they are the least polite/considerate/courteous. Very rarely get an acknowledgement from them if I am considerate to them.

This question is very funny because men’s biggest downfall when it comes to driving is their overconfidence. 😂
@MJtheCoach What do you know about either logic or reality? Don't make the assumption, as many males like you do, that women are unfamiliar with logic, because I can tell you now that I am not.
