My girlfriend said I get on her nerves a lot?

This was random & said unprovoked. Yesterday, my girlfriend only texted me one time during the morning time & when I tried texting her, she kept ignoring me out of the blue. This behavior isn’t necessarily uncommon because she behaves this way whenever she’s going through something. So I backed off & gave her some space.

Around 10 to 11pm, she texted me and told me to stop sending Nintendo stuff to her because she hates seeing it on her page. This got me confused because since Christmas, she been obsessed with her new Switch & sent me a bunch of Nintendo stuff herself. I unsent the post & she started sending me random things she liked.

I shrugged it off & this was completely random. She sent a post and said “You know…you get on my nerves a lot.” I thought she was playing with me because she used to playfully say that before. I told her that I didn’t do anything & she told me that I get on her nerves in general. A lot of things about me really irks her soul.

This took me aback because I don’t know why she’s saying this now or even at all. All I done was love, listen, be attentive, & straightforward with her about things. This behavior is just different.

We been together for 2 years by the way.

Ok. Ask her what gets on her nerves. Make a decision whether she makes you happy enough to change the things that bothers her. If you are willing to change them, apologize and say you'll do your best to change, though she shouldn't be surprised if you fail on occasion, as you are breaking a bad habit.

If you decide you don't want to change those things, then tell her that this is who you are, and that you aren't going to change. She can accept that and move forward with you, or she can end the relationship and find someone who will better meet her desires.
