Or is there some sort of cultural or societal influence?
Maybe both? or something else?

Girls, Why are far more girls more geared towards the LGBTQ community than men?
oh okay! cool ill check it out
What are your perspectives on it?
Same as to what?
You didn't leave an answer on this question you linked me
okay! well thanks
Simple! Girly girls have a lot to experiment with! Ultra cute to capture the hearts of boys and girls alike! In most cases society supports it a little bit better than say a man trying it
More comfortable with experimentation I’d say. There’s less stigma compared tl guys experimenting with other guys.
That really seems like a good question to ask men, why men aren't that way. Get their input on it, if you didn't already.
Women tap into their sexuality more then men ! We’re more open and accepting !
It’s more accepted and girls’ sexuality is more fluid
@Sarah6960 I wouldn’t go that far… but a lot certainly are, assuming queer includes bi and bicurious
I think it's because they want to explore the same sex
@Sarah6960 yeah they are queer
Do you have any statistics?
There doesn't seem to be any real consistency with statistics.
Many can't even agree on how large the LGBTQ community is
some show it as only about 2% of the population, others perhaps 20%.. etc
the CDC for example shows there are around 3x more women that 1. feel attraction to the same sex, 2. sleep with the same sex, and 3. identify as LGBTQ than men
But you also have surveys that show it about equal, or at times even show more men
really seems to matter how its asked, and who is asking it, and how many are asked
simply put
there really are no statistics that show this because its hard to record
However, female sexuality is viewed as far more fluid and LGBTQ oriented by psychologists
Like for example
the 2019 Students by Sexual Identity Survey
which showed the followed
Males
91.2% Heterosexual
2.1% Gay
3.4% Bisexual
3.2% Not Sure
Females
77.6% Heterosexual
2.9% Lesbian
13.9% Bisexual
5.6% Not Sure
Or the
"Sexual Behavior, Sexual Attraction, and Sexual
Orientation Among Adults Aged 18–44 in the
United States: Data From the 2011–2013 National
Survey of Family Growth"
Which shows that Females has 17.4% Same Sex Contact vs Male 6.2%
and Women Identified as
92.3% Heterosexual
1.3% Gay
5.5% Bisexual
and Men
95.1% Heterosexual
1.9% Gay
2.0% Bisexual
IF anything I have noticed in regards to statistical research... its very inconsistent
But it often suggests (and I think this is fairly accurate)
that Homosexuality is relatively EQUAL between men and women
but its largely in the realms of Bisexuality where there is a massive difference
which due to being disproportionately female, tends to skew things to being dominated by women.
Hopefully that helps :)
Dismissing that those all come from surveys, which tend to be highly biased and inaccurate in terms to a total population…
There are multiple reasons as to why it might appear that women hold the majority in bisexuality:
- The men questioned were culturally lead against bisexuality
- The women did not culturally experience as large a stigma on it as men
- There was selection bias
Etc. etc.
Perhaps
so then are you stating from your own perspective
there should be no real statistical difference between men and women
that the Homosexual, Bisexual.. etc aspects should be relatively statistically the same between men and women?
So basically you are saying
The methodologies are broken, and we don't know enough (or have the proper standards) to actually make any definitive statements on the subject
Interesting.
Good question I'm not should
