Why don’t women put in any effort when they are interested in a guy? Are they relying on their looks to get the job done?

No, some women, like myself for example. Have been bullied by both men and women. Called “disgusting, hideous and fat” repeatedly, that when I became an adult. I wouldn’t believe that men would be interested in me , and attracted to me.
Once I left High School I GLEW UP, and didn’t even notice it.

When men began showing me interest and flirting, I thought it was some type of bullying or joke. As it used to be when I was in school. Until a guy admitted he was interested in me in front of a coworker, and many times would blush at me. That’s when I took it seriously.

I don’t even have looks and that’s why. If I expressed that I liked a guy, it would just embarrass him. No one wants to be with or he liked by the ugly girl

Coz socially in almost every culture... Males have been conditioned to chase and or court the female to the point that they either accept them or reject them for someone else. Thus most of the females subconsciously want and or need their Male Counterpart to initiate the courting or the relationship (if you may). Arguably sometimes they are just oblivious to the fact that someone has a crush on them or something along those lines.

Could be that, or it could be, for example, that she believes it's the guy's job to take the initiative. Or maybe she fears rejection.

Because men have historically always been the initiators as much as I've always resented that
