Just say hey and ask how we are doing. Be friendly, but not too friendly because that makes it seem like you're creepy. Ask about hobbies, what people do for a living, that kind of thing. It also does depend on the setting, too. Just behave in a way that won't make you stand out too much.

  There are different ways of being friendly, and what I mean by too friendly is almost losing sight of boundaries.
