Why would a woman (complete stranger) hang around me all night at a bar?

My apologies. This is a long post. If you do not feel like reading the whole thing, skip to last paragraph.

I went out drinking a week ago. I was alone. A woman approached me and we made some small talk (nothing of consequence) then she went back to her friends. I noticed she was keeping an eye on me anytime I looked around. Once I went to go talk to her but she quickly went to her friends. However, I noticed she was still watching me throughout the night.

Toward the end of the night I went to the restroom. When I left the restroom I noticed she was nearby again. That could have been a coincidence so I went back to my spot to drink until closing and got a new drink just to be safe. About 30 minutes before last call, I again notice her staring at me, alone this time. Finally, when I was leaving and getting ready to call an uber, she approached me and we chatted a little bit.

What creeped me out was she knew what hotel I was staying at despite a bunch of them being in the area. She was also telling me about how ubers in this area are hard to find and offered for me to join her since the hotel I was going to was on route to where she was going. True to what she said I had a hard time getting an uber so I took her up on her offer because I figured between the uber driver having a dashcam and it only being one girl I could handle myself and I did not feel like walking 5ish miles while intoxicated. During the whole ride she was quiet but kept looking at me with a smile.

She got me to the hotel without any real incident and was very nice, but I found the whole encounter weird. I also noticed a business card with a female attorney's name and number in my pocket despite me only talking to one woman the entire night and I did not ask for her number. I'm puzzled how she got it in my pocket without me knowing. There was only one possible moment in the uber she could have done so but a few at the bar. What are your thoughts on this situation?

After talking with Kkstarzz96 and DarkWinterNights I decided to text this woman just now. I did not expect a response so quickly. She actually texted back and said she was watching over me because one of her friends had threatened to spike my drink. The reason she was alone later was because she called the cops and that friend got arrested and the other friend was pissed off and left. The moment I was looking at my phone to order an uber was when she gave me her card.

I texted her back jokingly saying "Damn so it was not a date invitation lol jk". She texted back "It can be if you want it to be". Either she is the world's most elaborate liar or I'm in for a treat XD

Sounds like she's a professional, recognized that you are visiting, and is offering her services to you. If you're interested in that, call the number on the card. Be careful though, she could be part if an undercover police sting operation, looking for johns.

Truth be told it sounds like the start of a kidnapping creepypasta.
That said, since nothing bad happened, and I do tend to harp on the women on this site for not making the first move, it’s likely she was just socially awkward with the situation and actually likes you. If she is indeed a lawyer, it’s even more likely she’s very career oriented and not very experienced with dating.
OR something did happen that night and she’s offering her consulting expertise lol.

She got her friend arrested for spiking peoples drinks? That’s… I’m not sure what to think of that. Did you notice the cops show up at the place or anything out of the ordinary happen? What did they spike your drink with? Try to do a Google search if her name to face match. Something is very odd. If you go on a date with her, ask a friend to keep tabs on you.

The person was not successful. If I even look away for a second I get a new one. Cops were there all night so seeing them was not a red flag. I did a search on her and she is a legit attorney. Her specialty is helping domestic violence and sexual assault victims.

If you do end up going on a date with her and don’t mind providing us an update I’d be very curious what comes of it haha.

I don't know sometimes it's really hard to make it clear that you're interested without just walking up to you and saying I'm interested. It's a lot of pressure that you may say no and I'd have to awkwardly avoid you so instead I'll just have my gaze and hope you'll approach me to know it's safe to pursue my feelings. I've never really told someone I liked them unless we were alone. If you got a card with her number, I'm pretty positive that was her telling you, since you guys were as alone as you could be that night.

I might call her up. The city I was in when this happened is about a 3 hour drive from where I live so it would not be terribly difficult to go see her. I just want to be sure I am not running into someone crazy. I could not tell if I was being stalked or if she was just being slightly awkward.
