Why do some girls try to embarrass their friends in front of guys?

I just saw this video where this girl tripped one of her friends over in front of a group of guys and was trying to hog the attention. Are they not embarrassed?

A girl did this to me once and it was because (I think) she was trying to impress the guy. I think she thought making me look bad would make her look more desirable. Had the opposite effect though, guys usually notice and find it a turn off in my experience

It usually works in reverse in my case. She likes to embarrass me in front of her girlfriends, etc.
