Makaylia Shaylynn Jolley, of Pearl, was arrested last week after police received several 911 calls on 12 May “saying a woman had repeatedly and forcibly thrown a baby on the roadway at 775 N. Bierdeman Rd,” according to a release from the Pearl Police Department. “When officers arrived they found another woman holding a severely injured child.”
The baby was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Mississippi in Jackson, where she was initially listed in critical condition but passed away on Saturday afternoon, police said. The infant was named as Khalysie Lashay Jolley.
Ms Jolley tried to escape into the woods but was quickly taken into custody on Thursday, and charged with attempted murder and felony child abuse. The charges were upgraded to capital murder and felony child abuse after the baby’s death.
She is scheduled to appear on Tuesday in Pearl Municipal Court.
Pearl Police Chief Dean Scott told the Clarion Ledger that the officers involved have been unable to sleep since the incident, which he described as “very deliberate and intentional” – adding that Jolley “showed no remorse”.

babys are needy and cry a lot because they can't talk... they don't teach that in school, so passing it on to others. stress, hormones off, emotional troubles, financial troubles, boyfriend troubles, job troubles, pain meds off, other drugs. doesn't take much to snap at that point.
she's a human. a sucky one, but we can all fail under enough load and if ill equiped.

Ok I'll take a leap. This is "my" opinion so please keep the name calling and such to yourselves 😁 1st and foremost I would have her sterilized, I can not imagine a possible excuse for her actions. I really would need to know more about her to speak to her sanity or ability to stand trial. Personally I think they should bring back public stoning
In my humble opinion children are born full of curiosity and innocense, our society currently kills that off quickly enough without intent, unless you believe the conspiracy theorists, I don't think the answer to any child's life problems is bouncing them out the window of a moving vehicle. nationality doesn't matter. if it was an Indian child we would deal with it... Shot in the spine while trying to escape. Then shot again while trying to run away from the hospital. Then beat over the head with an iron rod as she was trying to leap from a ladder onto an officer. And then when found guilty, begin physical punishment. Too bad we can't really do that.
Who said babies don't feel pain from abortion? Depends on the age. So if someone lost their sense in pain receptors, it is okay to kill them? Pain is the factor which decides whether it is okay to kill someone or not? Baby murderers should be hanged to death in my opinion. Be it those who got abortions or those who kill babies outside the womb.

Absolutely disgusting. Child had a beautiful name and disappointing to know this person was probably a Game of Thrones fan. This is my biggest argument with removing legality of abortion. I fear if you outlaw abortion, you will see more of this.
She's a woman; a young white woman. So she'll barely get a slap on the wrist for this. Don't kill the messenger; I'm just telling you what's very likely going to happen. The justice system is not fair and impartial.
The reason should be asked to her in court of law. Police should not judge, they should do their job of enforcing law only. That is the only judgement they should be allowed to pass professionally on duty only that is.
Post-partum Depression. It's rare for a mother to kill her child, but this woman was clearly unable to handle her baby. I actually feel sorry for her, because she will live the rest of her life knowing she had committed infanticide!
