Ladies why would you ask a guy friend his feelings then reject him?

I always avoided telling her how I feel not that she didn't know but last night after being out drinking she asked why do you like me and if I had thoughts about. Me being drunk I kinda let it slip and said yeah. She then hit me with your like a brother to me and to not hold on to any thoughts. What was the point in asking me these questions?

Because she just wants to know how he feels out of curiosity; she was always planning to reject him anyway. Frankly, if a girl does that to you, your ONLY smart move is to cut off all ties with her. She clearly doesn't respect you and is at best, just using you as a shoulder to cry on or an ear to blather to. If you have feelings for her and she doesn't see you a worthy of a relationship, you're best to just get rid of her from your life and move on to someone else, cause it's unlikely your feelings will just go away and it's unlikely she'll ever gain more respect for you.

I personally disagree, I don’t think that not liking someone back means you don’t respect them. She clearly loves him as a friend, respects him and thinks he’s a good person to have around. You can be friends with someone of the opposite gender without it leading to anything else. It’s unfortunate for him that he caught feelings and she doesn’t feel the same, and if he feels like he can’t continue the friendship that is understandable, but she hasn’t done anything wrong here?

It sounds like she just wanted to make clear what her feelings were, and avoid leading him on as she probably suspected he started to like her. But if he gets on with her as a friend why not continue the friendship if he feels ok enough to do so?
