By conservative, it means : people can't take a joke, you are expected to take insults and smile without saying anything, respect the elders (even when they disrespect you) etc

Well true masters of sarcasm tend to have thick sin, and can use sarcasm as source of humor and charm with some good interpersonal skills to connect with people in a positive and productive way.

But some people have no sense of humor, or they have been jaded or just carries a chip on there shoulders. So if use sarcasm you have to have thick skin, because some people are so insecure about themselves they find error, fault or blame in any and everything.

Now some people have a dark sense of humor, and their for they have a darker sense of sarcasm. These are the ones that use it to make fun of or put others down and try to play it off as a joke when you know damn well its not a joke.

So you got to know the difference between the two, and a truly perceptive person with strong interpersonal skills will know who and what they can say to whom, how and when. But inorder to achieve that master level of sarcasm you got to learn from experience, trial and error... to get good at picking up on none verbal personality traits of other people. Those none verbal traits convey sooo much about a person and they don't even know they are advertising so much about themselves.
