Does a girl changed her mind or she is playing games I don't want to participate again?

Long story short. ~5 months ago I told a girl I like that I'm interested and she said no. We knew each other about 2 months. She was friendly but from the chats we had I had a feeling it would come out like that, but I just wanted to express my feelings.

From then we had couple short chats, literally about nothing I would say (because we have friends in common so i can't completely avoid her). Last one was more than a month ago. I know that sometimes she bring a topic about me between her friends. So, recently I woke up and found a photo of her in my DM. Replied to her and that was it. Now I'm confused why she did that if she didn't continue conversation or something. She want me to do something? try again or what? I'm really keen to know, but can't ask it directly... Like a loop I can't escape

Like a loop that you can not escape, he says. There's your answer... she's having fun "controlling the loop" The more you ignore her the more likely she will become more aggressive. I an NOT an expert.-
