It depends. If she uses it to manipulate you then don´t let her.

But some people need to first sort the problem in their head and try to calm their emotions so they won´t say or do anything that they would regret later.

You should ask if it´s the reason and then give her some space to sort it out. I think it´s always good to communicate this types of behavior prior. Like that you could ask when everything is okay why does she do it and (if it´s not just for manipulation) how you should react. And this go both ways. If for example when you get angry you need to talk about it right away tell her that ynad what you expect from her (I hope this makes sense...)

If she is your girlfriend - ask her direct question and communicate, if she isn't willing to talk, well let it be

Then don't. Don't even worry about it.
Let her stew about it. If she wants to bring it up, then she will.
After awhile she'll come to the conclusion that the tactic (essentially a version of "gunnah hold my breath until I turn blue") won't work.
Hounding her for information will only feed the monster and it will happen again.
Consider looking for a more mature partner.

Send one text that says. Hey I know you're upset right now, but I know what you need. Give me a call when you feel like talking I'll be here to listen. Then go on w/ your life. DONT solve her problem via text. If she text you trying to solve it like that just ignore her until she finally calls it schedules a time to call.

She is wanting you to go chasing after her to 'find out what's wrong' it is a manipulation tactic.
If you ignore her it will drive her nuts.
