Is menstrual period really that painful?

Question

I had some girlfriends that said they don't feel anything in their menstrual period. Even one of them said it's an exaggerated myth. I'm actually so curious about this, is that actually an exaggeration? I mean it can be something that depends on the person but still if you have witnessed some girls claiming that they don't feel anything while everyone else is claiming it is so painful, it makes me wtf

The symptoms really vary from person to person, but I'd say on the worst two days, I feel HORRIBLE. I have huge mood swings and every single thing irritates me to the point where it's unbearable. My normal, "Ugh, that sucks," multiples ten times, and I can feel like crying over any little inconvenience. On top of that, my area is all painful and crampy. Overall, horrible experience on those two bad days.

The physical pain isn't that bad for me, but I've seen other girls who HAD to take pain medications because it was too painful. It really varies from person to person, so it might be an exaggeration for some and an actual hellish reality for others. I'd say to not make any generalizations. Some women may exaggerate their problems, some may bluntly contradict the whole "Periods are unbearable," and some may actually deal with horrible period pain. It really varies for each individual.

For me I was blessed to have non painful periods. I may experience some slight pressure and can tell when my period is arriving soon. The only issues I've dealt with was feeling very tired and slow at work and sometimes a heavy flow. My periods have always been normal and 3 days, but now that I'm older I started having some irregular months but nothing to serious.

It really just depends on the woman, one coworkers had to leave work sometimes due to uncomfortable cramps. I think a lot of our fertility/reproductive issues tend to stem from our environment and the foods that we eat. It's effecting a lot women's weight as well as our periods.

It’s different for everyone. People who are lucky as hell don’t feel anything, while others can’t be productive anymore.

For me personally, I’m mostly bedbound for the first two days, but after that I can walk around. I still get bad cramps, but at least I’m not dragging myself across the floor in my own blood.

Some girls have a bad, some don't. Personally, it's usually okay but every now and then it's bad. I would say your girlfriend's who say that are either lucky or infertile.

The firstand second days is terrible. Always have pain in stomach I also feel like I always want to go CR. My Lower back is in pain. I don't like some smell also.

I used to have debililating menstral pain, so I'd have to miss school or work, then the doctor prescribed birth control pills and now I barely get a twinge of pain.

For me the first day or two really hurts and then i don't feel anything for the rest of the week, sometimes the first day can be unbearable other times it hurts but not bad enough that I can have to take pain meds
