How to stop liking douchebags?

Question

I've always had a thing for douchebags since I was 15 but I really do want to start being attrated to nice guys. any ideas on how to stop liking douches and start liking nice guys?

You need to identify what exactly about the douchebag-type you like so much. If it is the sheer stupid/cool-guy/macho/bad-boy sh*t that floats your boat, then go with it. There's nothing that DEMANDS you be with a nice guy. Plenty of girls (and guys) date people who are simply a**holes and there's no way around it.

Now, if you have realized (unlike many, many people) that the douchebag often is mean, inconsiderate, and neglectful, and this bothers you, then you have to look past surfaces.

Find guys who do not match the criteria of the douchebag. It's very possible to find attractive and cool gentlemen who are just that: gentlemen. Of course, you'll have to spend more time with them and see that they are equally as fun and flirtatious (perhaps not as daring as some douchebags) and well worth your time.

Girls who go for douchebags, and guys who do the same, very often seem to jump into relationships after a short while of knowing someone. I'm not saying you have admitted this, but if it's the case, get to know the anti-douchebag a bit better and you may find you like them.

By spending more time with nice guys, spend more time in the places they congregate (nice gatherings) and less time in the places they don't?

You're looking for confidence and people skills in another person that you yourself lack. Work on yourself, learn to like yourself, and you won't have such poor taste in men anymore. Why go for a mean person when you can find someone who will treat you with respect? Stop hating yourself.

I'm done with jerks too. I think the point is to look for ACTIONS not the SWEET TALK. That's the difference between a good man and a jerk. Look for a good heart not a good image.

People are generally attracted to people like themselves. Maybe you need to take a deep look at yourself, and sort out your own insecurities, immaturity, and emotional damage.

It's because you like confidence a lot and think they're exciting. Nice guys are usually not like that. If you can learn to like lower or bad confidence and guys that aren't that exciting you'll be good.
