I think the [sometimes subtle] difference is that there is a look of something in the eyes. Hard to describe exactly what that is [and many guys are extremely good at concealing it] but it looks a bit like anticipation, focus, energy. Maybe it's desire, wrapped in one of these. A relationship has to begin with this [with both people; or the other feels it soon after.]

A guy is more than a friend if I find him attractive on the outside and the inside. He's interesting to me. He is interesting because of the things he believes, chooses to say, and how he strings these ideas together and what words he chooses to express them. It's different for everyone, but I like wise, intelligent, compassionate, insightful, playful.

    General incompatibility.

I have a friend who's super religious, and I'm not. That's fine for a friendship because he lives his life in a Christian way and let's me live as an agnostic, but we'd be completely incompatible in the way we view sexuality. We also have different hobbies. He's very athletic and into machinery. I'm into things like art and astrology. I'd really prefer to have a boyfriend/husband who shares at least some interests with me. Someone who's just a bit more artsy, or Hell, just a bit more sensitive to the emotions of others. There's a lot of things that are forgivable in friends because you don't live with them, you don't depend on them or need comfort from them the way I at least would want from a lover. I want someone who really gets me. Friends don't have to know you in and out, they don't have to understand or even know of every aspect of you. But at least for me, that's so important to have in a partner.

If he doesn't have his sh! t together.

He doesn't have to make 6 figures, I WOULD like him to make at least 90% of what I do just so we have similar disposable incomes and can do things together that I like to do without it being a financial burden on him, but I'm not asking for check stubs or anything...

What I do want to see, though, is that his life on average is better in the last couple of months in average than it was a year ago and 2 years ago. This doesn't have to be financial, just an overall "is he bettering himself"? Is he in a better mental space? Is he doing better with his living situation? Is he either in a better job or at least happier with it?

There are some minimums, though... He has to have a car (I'm not a chauffer), he has to have a job (I'm not a sugar momma), and he has to have his own place (I'm loud and I'm not there for his roommates to get a free show)

    either:

    - his personality is really not my type

    - i don't find him attractive

    - i just don't have feelings for him (even if technically he'd be totally dateable)

    - never really thought about him as anything more than that just cause

    - he's taken/likes someone else

Our relationship is that of friends.

If neither of us express romantic feelings, it is just a friendship. Though it feels bad saying "just" - friendships are fantastic.

Assuming this is a guy I get along with otherwise: if I don't even want to think about him being naked, in the sense that I don't even feel remotely curious about him in that way at all.

Him not showing any signs in a long while. Or if he doesn't care for conversations. The deeper the better:)

I have no feelings for the n*gga, and he's probably straight and horny. How expected

Biology. We can’t choose who we like. Man nor woman.

I don't evaluate like that. When I meet a guy it's just like when I meet a girl. I don't think of a guy as JUST A FRIEND, they are just my friends as it is with girls, it'sthe default. When I start liking someone, that's when it becomes different.

Sexual attraction, if there is none we are just friends. Also even though I am sexual attract if we don’t click mentality or emotionally there is nothing to go from there!

Sometimes. Two friends are just friends. And friends don't know how they feel. It's not sexual to fall in love.
