Do you believe girls and guys can be just friends?

Like I have a guy friends, but I wouldn’t say we are close. Because every time I see close Guy and girlfriends, somebody wants something sexual from the other person do you guys really believe guys and girls could be just friends?

I feel like opposite-sex friendships can only remain fully platonic from start to finish under certain circumstances. 1, one or both are either seeing someone or in a relationship. 2, one doesn’t find the other attractive or that feeling is mutual. 3, one or both are part of the LGBT+ community. Otherwise I think it’s hard for those kinds of friendships to thrive.


I also have to consider what a real friendship entails. The most successful opposite sex connections I’ve had are the ones I kept at arms length. Like maybe we check in on occasion, say hi or chat when we would see each other at the bar or whatever, etc etc. But to be texting everyday all through the day, hanging out often, planning things together, basically trying to do what I do with my female friends? Plus we’re both single and at least conventionally attractive, how would one not fall for the other? Friendships thrive on compatibility as do romantic relationships so I could totally see how one would gain affection towards the other.

If they're both straight, there's the possibility one will catch feelings and the other doesn't. If they're both gay, they can very much only be friends lol.

But unless you only see members of the opposite sex as people to get with, it's hard to imagine you can't be just friends with at least some of them.

Not if you hang out every day, if you hang out everyday it's not just a friend thing, you can lie to yourself all you want. Now if you girl and guy have something in common and here and there you say hello, catch up, then yea, sure.
