Yes, half of my friends are girls. For me, I make my intentions clear with a girl from the beginning and I do not befriends girls I want to date. It makes life much simpler when the both of us can do nice shit for each other without the intent being misconstrued. Also, I don't like dating friends anyway, since any mutual friends get up in your shit about it.

Some of those friends liked me, but most of them kept it to themselves until years later where we could laugh about it. Some didn't, which made it awkward, although we moved past it. My situation is somewhat rare, although I know there are other guys who treat it the same way out there. Most of the time I do think at least one of them is attracted to the other though
