I work at a retail store, there's this girl that works on the registers, she has long black hair, some tattoos, some piercings and dresses a little goth. I've spoken to her a few times, like “hey, how are you?”, she answers with “hey, im okay” and thats where the conversation ends, she come in, does her work and punches out, when she has to. I've never seen her have full conversations with anyone, i have tried bring up things. Like, if she buys a book, ill try to talk to her about it, but she doesn't really say much. Is there a reason why she's this quiet? she's worked here for a year, so i thought by now, shed open up to some staff members, but she hasn't.
i have seen some other staff members talk to her badly, one older staff lady disliked her taste in clothing and the lady told this to her face, another girl (she's kinda bitchy) treats her like trash, gets up her, if she's 1-2 minutes over her break, most of whats happened to this girl. I've over heard and seen most of how a lot treat her, a majority of it comes down, to how she looks.
i really want to be her friend, but i feel like attempts is being her friend has failed, i obviously dont like her in a crush or anything, i just have a feeling she is lonely at work, since she never talks to anyone, sits alone on her breaks. What should i do or should i just leave her be?
