Why do I feel bad for getting even with the people who maliciously hurt me?

Many people think revenge will solve the problem.

They do not realise that, getting even just makes you worse as a person. Getting revenge means brooding on the matter, and letting it take control of you body, actions, and emotions. You also feel guilty for doing wrongful acts for revenge, and as much as you try to justify it, you still feel guilty because you caused the other person harm.

Being able to walk away peacefully shows maturity.
