I do not do this v. often anymore, still sometimes, I used to do it more often. And I would say, it is like anything else where you are trying to look nice or look sexy, like if you choose which jeans you wear because your butt looks good in them or you choose your top and bra to make your boobs look better, it is the same question "are you wearing those jeans bc you want guys to look at your butt?" and I guess the answer is, kind of, I want to be generally perceived as attractive and (when single which I am not now) I wanted guys I liked to be interested in me, but just as important I wanted other girls to consider me good looking. W midriff specifically that is (at least in my head) a summer thing, I did it a lot at the beach, but then sometimes you have a bare midriff under a winter coat bc it is a little different than what people expect so it stands out more. JMO!
