That isn't always the case but I feel like it is more frequent because attractive people are treated better by society so they have a harder time dealing with being treated negatively because they are less likely to have to develop those skills to do so.

They don't in my experience. That's how I got a supermodel for a girlfriend. I didn't like her. I think they just expect men to like them. You defy their expectations while being charming and it drives them crazy.
