If you tell someone you have just begun talking to (potential date) you need time to yourself does that mean dating is over?

Not really bothered if over to be honest but am just a bit... like wtf.

Guy got offended over a comment that wasn't offense it was actually supportive (it'd be offensive if you're shallow and a dullard) given as he brought it up his insecurities about it & when I apologized he said he responded with "not offended at all".

Furthermore I am 100% certain guy was married or involved with another woman. Why else only talk to me on the phone when outside. He was friend's so/so friend who liked me apparently (don't act or dress cheaply if he was with someone else so a real douchebag if was)
