She probably slept over it and decided that acting the way she did initially was not appropriate as it may give the wrong impression of her and that you may think that she may want something from you.

Apparently, that is exactly how you interpret it since you were hoping to pursue this conversation and possibly to lead to something a bit more... personal.

Replying short messages is indicative that

1. she does not have time to be on the phone 24/7.

2. she tries to distance herself.

3. she does not want to give the wrong impression.

In any case, it is not useful to try to press her to give more than she is willing to give. If you had intentions about her, just move on.
