I asked a girl out because I really liked her at the time but I cut it off before the relationship was offical because I realized she wasn't looking for anything serious at the time. She has been through a divorce recently and isn't looking for anything serious since she got divorced. I broke it off by telling her that I value our connection as friends and don't want to ruin it so I feel it's best if we stay friends. She told me we can still talk and be friends and we'll see what happens later. Does that mean anything?

1. She may change her opinion about a serious relationship once she is over the failed one.

2. You may change your mind about the idea of being in a relationship and how you view it.

Being friends is nice because it does not involve pressure to a commitment or the dangers associated with fornication. There is nothing wrong to have a male (or female) friend and as long as you don't involve or expect romantic feelings, this can be a lasting friendship.

Whichever of the 2 possible solutions applies, enjoy this friendship while it lasts.
