Most men do not communicate like women so misinterpret or totally miss women cues. Ask for detail explanation why they think that. And what are you missing. Learn from them.
They thought a girl who was in the same group of friends in the past (she had a thing with another guy from the group) was attracted to me because she invited me to go out with her several times and made an effort to see me when she was very busy. However, when we went out we spoke as friends and she asked me about my love life and she told me about hers. I am not particularly attracted to her.
Clarify it asap. demonstrate distance from that girl, and maybe one day she or they will believe.
Most men are oblivious to almost everything.
The signs some women give are too subtle. Therefore, we don't perceive it as interest and we think showing interest ourselves might be considered unwanted attention.
