Girls, Debate with girlfriend?

My girlfriend and I are having a fun little debate: She believes if men and women fought in same division in MMA and all strikes were allowed and no protective cup could be worn, the girls would win more often than the men because they would be trained to skillfully and accurately land a blow to the nuts, which she thinks would result in a KO bc the guy would sink to his knees and be debilitated.

I believe men are so much stronger that it wouldn’t even be close, even if nut shots were allowed and no cups were worn, because they’d be able to skillfully dodge the woman’s nut strike.

I’d imagine most men agree with me so I want female perspectives?

I obviously don’t have nuts so I don’t know how sensitive they actually are. I think that if the woman was specifically focused on going for the man’s nuts, she’ll eventually hit it no matter how hard he tries to protect it, as she can hit somewhere else as a diversion, and when he defends that area, she can quickly attack between his legs.

Yea I mean I guess since the fight would go potentially 15+ minutes, it’s probably only a matter of time before the guy is caught with his guard down or protecting another body part like you’re saying. Men’s most vulnerable spot is on the outside of their body (their nuts), so it’s an easy target for a woman to hit. I don’t think it would be an instant KO but I definitely think it would knock him down, distract him and make him open to more attacks in other areas, inevitably making him lose. So I think women would win more often than men, unless the men trained themselves to be immune to nut attacks.

Yea I don’t necessarily disagree. My girlfriend is saying that every time a dude gets accidentally hit in the gnads in UFC, even though he’s wearing a cup, he still takes 5+ minutes to recover and make it to his feet, and sometimes isn’t even able to continue the fight. She says since that happens with a cup on, no protection would mean an instant KO coming from a trained woman

It depends.. I'm sure it would always vary but growing up with a brother who was aggressive sometimes I can tell you with confidence that most guys can't take a kick or punch to the nuts and keep fighting, no matter how big or strong.

Well KO would imply that I hit him in the head hard enough to render him unconscious which did not happen. But I did make him surrender or left him on the floor crying from scratching, hair pulling or landing a good hit in his nuts which would have been similar to a real no rules fight because we both fought dirty. We are twins so the weight and height differences made it literally as fair as it could be and I won our fights waaaay more lol. even while he was going through puberty and got musclier and stronger.

I can’t disagree there, because all it takes to drop me is one hit. Last question: do you think weight class would matter? My girlfriend thinks no matter how much smaller the woman is, is she lands a knee, kick, or punch, even the biggest men would be debilitated. Part of the reason she feels that way is she’s seen ufc fights where the guy is wearing a cup and takes a nut shot and still either can’t resume the fight, or takes 5+ min to recover. She says if that happens to huge guys when they have a cup, no cup would mean an instant KO. Like a bigger they are, the harder they fall kind of thing. What are your thoughts?

I think weight classes would matter. A giant man with longer reach vs a tiny woman he would probably be able to knock her out without her even having the chance to attack him. But I think the weight class and height difference would have to be very extreme for that. And it also goes the other way, if the woman is bigger then the man AND she can kick him in the nuts, that would be brutal.

I think though that excluding extreme differences, even a smaller lighter woman could still beat a bigger stronger guy if she landed a nutshot. I made my Dad drop when I was really little from just punching him in his balls once so I think if I did that to him now he would probably cry.

Getting hit in the boob ain't that bad. I've been kicked in the boob and it does hurt but I just continued and ignored it. Can't say I've seen a guy take a kick to his nuts and just ignore it and continue.

I think the rule is to protect guys from getting there testicles damaged while just playing a sport. I don't think guys would want to play combat sports if it means they won't be able to make babies anymore.

I’m on my sister’s account, but like you said, it would be brutal if the girl were bigger. I’m a tiny, pretty effeminate guy. I’ve struggled with anorexia and a lot of health problems. I’m 5’ 9” at 110 pounds, so most girls can beat the shit out of me. On top of that, a kick in the balls is definitely an instant fetal position, so I would personally never want to try this haha.

It depends how well the competitors are matched up. In my class groin strikes are allowed, and groin protection is banned for mixed gender fights, but the girls are often a higher rank too because the guys have so many physical advantages, like height, reach, size and strength etc. There are many variables to consider in making it a fair and competitive fight, but allowing full contact kicks to the guy’s nuts and forbidding any groin protection is key to many of my victories against male opponents. So I would say 50/50 as to who would win, if competitors are paired up fairly.

At professional level, no, but at club level some martial arts do allow it. Thai boxing in Thailand and combat sambo for example. Every time I’ve kicked a guy full contact in the nuts it’s always been an instant KO blow, yes. Blows to my boobs are painful, but not always a fight ender. I use my arms to protect my upper body mostly, and my legs for attacking strikes.

Anywhere between 15-30 minutes depending on the impact speed and power to the guy’s nuts and his own pain threshold. It’s pretty devastating like! There was a news article recently about a professional Thai boxing match in Thailand (male vs male) ending with a groin strike. Also Wikipedia described how groin strikes are allowed in combat sambo, and Leithwei boxing. It always surprises me how so many people are shocked by this.

They either fall to their knees or fall backwards holding their nuts and end up rolling around on the floor, often crying and screaming out in absolute agony. That’s a typical reaction I would say, and it can be quite dramatic! I think groin protection derives from guys wanting to protect their most venerable weakness, which makes no sense to me because in a real fight situation you cannot rely on groin protection to save you. It’s sexist when taking on girls because guys are allowed to use all their physical advantages against us, but we are not allowed to target our knees and kicks to their single most vulnerable spot! That’s why I enjoy practicing martial arts that offer a more real life kind of experience.

So I would believe that if kicking a guy in his family jewels would be okay then to punch a girls chest would also be fine.
