So I’ve known this girl for a little while now. We have been hanging out with each other. The very first night I met her she asked me if I had a girlfriend, I told her no. I went ahead and asked her if she had a boyfriend but she said”didn’t want to talk about it”She didn’t really give me a straight answer. I figured that she must of been through a bad breakup that’s why. Time passed I come back to hangout with her but someone told her that I thought she was cute, which I did. She finds out and says she would like for us to get to know each other more. I told her that I agreed and would love that as well so we could grow our relationship. A little bit more time passes was great and all then all of a sudden when we’re alone, she tells me has to tell me something. She ends up telling me that she has a boyfriend. I didn’t know what to think when she told me. After she told me she also asked me if I did actually want us to be more than friends, told her. Which dk why she asked not that it mattered anymore anyways. She also asked if we could still be friends. Ik I should move on but why did she do all this?

She did it because she is a disgusting cheat. That is all she ever will be too. She is a cheater and there is really nothing more to read into it. She was not being upfront with you about being in a relationship.

You are right that you should move on. One, you don't want to be the one that facilitates cheating. Two, do you really want to be with someone that you know will cheat on her SO? Of course not. You will be constantly worried that she is doing it to you. After all, cheaters never change.

She is doing it because she is either bored or not in a good relationship but refuses to break it off. She could be "window" shopping guys and seeing if there are potential replacements before she takes the plunge and dumps her boyfriend. Ultimately, it does not matter because this is not a quality person. Cheating is the most despicable act of betrayal and in my opinion, unforgivable.

She was going back and forth on deciding about a boyfriend, and she decided to go with him. I've done this and I'll bet a lot of girls have.

The other possibility is the Magic Boyfriend, she's getting to know you and at some point decides she doesn't want anything with you, so the Magic Boyfriend comes out and gives her an excuse. I've done this too.

As the one guy said, all phases and responses of not interest, though at times you might have had a chance, it just didn't end up that way.
