I have ended two friendships for this reason. It makes me wonder why is it so difficult for women to be nice with their own gender. Considering how women have gone through a lot in this world, being supportive won’t do any harm to them but yea I don’t see that will be happening yet anytime soon.

In most cases, people clearly display who they are. The mistake is to believe it will be different with you. The signs are pretty straight forward, especially if they talk about other people to you behind their back. There's a lot of disloyal, selfish assholes out there. Best is to stop associating with them. They're not worth your time.

Sadly because its human instinct to gossip, if you have information about a mutual acquitence or whether you're just talking about things that are going on that you find interesting the information can get out. I'm a bad gossip I can honestly say in most cases too its not done maliciously.
