Lol I do this a lot tbh. I usually do this at work when I have a crush on someone. I try to act disinterested when other people are around so they don't pick up on the fact that I like the person because I don't want to deal with gossip or drama. But in a one-on-one setting, it feels easier to show the person I like/enjoy being around them. It gives me the opportunity to see if they will reciprocate my feelings through signals or if they simply see me as another coworker without the pressure of other people interfering or shaming me for it.
