Why would a girl not let you become strangers?

We have a history. Never gone all the way. Just kissed a few times. She had severe mental issues so I took a step back.

She always pops up now and again and I've noticed our conversations are becoming more frequent. I was thinking that she had so many chances to just move on and forget about me and she insists on sticking around in my life. Thoughts?

FYI, she is a nice person and I do care for her but I haven't even attempted making conversation with her since November last year. Whatever communication has happened has been 100% because of her.

She is unstable and whilst she pops up occasionally just to see how I am, she can just as easily go cold without any warning. One of those if you pursue, she'll get colder.

I feel you but obviously you care about her. If you dont have anyone better maybe you should try to explore that. Figure out what you see in her and how to maybe help her. Deep connections are rare so for that it may be worth the pain. She seems to like you but has issues, thats why she pops up - to answwr your q.
