Why don't men get as many compliments?

I'm not talking about artificial comments like you see on social media from strangers, but real life compliments. Sure, we don't get as much attention as women & that's fine. But I always compliment someone if they're wearing a cool shirt or whatever.

Compliments, whether those for men or for women are mostly limited to looks. Those are superficial looks and are not really meant to be meaningful.

Real compliments such as the ones made on an achievement for example are very rare because they are not impacting the recipients the same way as those superficial ones do.

We all know that when a compliment is made, it is mostly because there is a hidden message behind it. When a man compliments a woman about her looks or her way of dressing, he attempts to flirt directly. When you compliment someone on their achievement, it is not so much because of flirting but genuine appreciation for what the person has done.

I presume that women are less visual than men and don't send hidden messages when complimenting a man, be it for his looks or the way he dresses.

If I see anyone (regardless of gender) wearing something I think is cool like a sport team shirt I like or whatever, I'll compliment them with no deeper intentions. I do it to be friendly. I understand that isn't always the case tho

the vast majority of men are considered unattractive by the vast majority of women thus men overall receive less compliments however an attractive man would receive plenty of compliments regardless of their personality e. g. Jeremy Meeks

@Sunssong You're incorrect. This is why people in relationships; married other otherwise get hit on, and in most cases far more often than when they were single.
Because when you're single, you're desperate... which is ugly. Very few are attracted to that. When you're in a relationship, the desperation disappears

You mean leverage? Lol. I erased half my first comment which was about leverage. The problem isn't desire lol. The problem is most people have very little leverage to go along with the desire.
Neediness is a repelling energy because it is desire without leverage. This is basic.
