Why wouldn’t my moms friend introduce me to her son?

I was at a party for my moms friend (from college) daughter. She graduated college. My mom said she has a nice looking son who graduated from a good college. He’s 32 and I’m 25.

My mom wanted to introduce us since we hadn’t seen eachother since we were little kids.. plus I didn’t remember him

My mom thought it was a good idea for her friend to do it. I was a bit embarrassed when she asked and… she didn’t do it anyway..

she said “she’s (me) still finding herself and he’s passed that “ I don't know even know what that meant. I have a degree and I will be teaching

it felt like an excuse or like I’m not good enough for her son

Sounds as though she thinks you’re not good enough for her son. I don’t know how often she’s seen you or what your life is like right now but maybe she thinks your life is drama. You’re not up to his standards from her POV. Maybe she’s judging you based on what your mom was like. There’s numerous reasons, but his mom thinks he can do better than you.

Yeah I figured. My mom finished college and got her masters. She didn’t finish.

I’ve only seen her twice in my life tbh. She gave me a graduation gift when I graduated and I came out to support her daughter.

Some women are quite bias when it comes to age stereotyping. Because you're 25 and he's 32. Age stereotyping is such a awful shame now and these days. So is family oppression. People don't have a life but torment others around them 😐
