Why hasn't my boyfriend introduced me to his parents?

I have been with my boyfriend for 6 months and I find it strange that he hasn't introduced me to his parents yet. Thingsare getting pretty serious with us so I don't know what's wrong. Do you guys think it might be too soon since its only been 6 months?

A lot of you have said I shouldn't b worried if he is not close to his family, but he says he is, ad he says he is a very family oriented person... :( should I be worried?

Maybe he's just anxious about it? He might have had an ex that he brought home before that his family didn't like at all and it ruined things. Or he brought a girl home and his family loved her and then they broke up? Maybe he's worried you won't like his family or his family won't like you.

This happened tp a friend of mine. Theyve been dating a year and she only just met his parents. In their case, his family was really strict about him not dating white girls so he wanted to be sure before he introduced them.

This is probably the case for you. If youve been dating for awhile and youve saod I love you and all that, its time to meet them! Bring it up sometime soon and see how he reacts to it. Ask if he's ever had bad experiences with bringing girls home.

It's not too soon but it should not be an issue if he has not yet introduced you to his parents. Some people are not close to his family members or have hang ups on family issues. Let him take his time.

Don't feel bad. My dad's family didn't even know he was dating anyone until he announced his engagement to my mom. =)

Depends on how those 6 months have progressed.

If you guys see each other regularly, like once a week or more, then I think 6 months is long enough to start wondering why you haven't met his folks.

But if it was a long distance thing, where you've met just a few times... then no, I think it would be too soon.

depends how close he is to his family really. if they're pretty tight, you might have something to worry about. if he's not that close to them, I wouldn't worry about it. has he met yours?

Yeah, 6 months sounds like it would be too soon to me. I would only introduce someone to my parents if I knew the relationship would be a long term one.
