Do guys get butterflies?

Guys, when you keep looking into a gilr's eyes do you do it for any particular reason? Especially with somebody you don't know that well (like at work, etc). Do you do it because your confident and stare at all women in the eyes or do you do it to intimidate or do you do it because you like the way she meets your gaze and it gives you some 'feeling'?

There is this guy that I do not know that well but one of the things he does is stare into my eyes and will not let go of his gaze until I look away. Other times I've caught him looking at me and he quickly turns away. Sometimes he'll look up from under his brow and deep into my eyes. Other times he's done this and give me a sly/coy/half smile.

Sometimes he'll ask me how I am or say good night or make small talk etc. Sometimes he'll blush around me or act nervouis and fidget.

Guys do you guys get butterflies and what's with the eye contact?

Of course we get butterflies; as much as we may claim otherwise, we are only human. What he's doing is exactly what he wanted to do; he's getting you to think about him. He likes you, no question about that. My guess is that he's a little shy and is hoping that, if you get thinking about him enough, then you'll either give him a sign that you want him to come talk to you (batting your eyelashes, smiling, blushing, etc.) or that you'll make the move and come talk to him yourself.

I hate to say, but I know exactly where he's coming from. I'm not only shy, but also love eyes. A girl with beautiful eyes can hold my gaze for days, and if she gives me a sign that she's interested, then I'm dancing in the streets!

Two years ago he started with the eyes. Then he started to lose weight, started dressing more 'modern', blushed when I came into the room suddenly, looks me dead in my eyes and does not move them away, sometimes accompanied by a slight coy smile. It's then that I fell in love or heavy crush with him and can't get my mind off this guy. I'm only shy with guys I really like and I've fallen for him. Now when he sees me he will even say "hi" first even if he's talking to another girl.

I'm too shy to keep eye contact so I'll normally just look away quickly then look back again

If it's a deep stare then I guess it means he's interested

Would there be any other reason to repeatedly stare at a girl in the eyes for over 2 years every time you seen her?

Or smile at her?

Or laugh at her jokes or tease her (a little/very light teasing)...? Would you do this just to be friendly?

Well it gives a feeling of being uneasy but I certainly would never think of comparing it to butterflies.

I never ate any butterflies though, but I doubt it feels the same way even if I did.

However, I know what you're talking about, I just hate this comparison. :P

He probably thinks you're attractive, by the way. And he made a move, he asks how you are.

Contact at first. You shouldn't expect a guy to jump on you the moment he finds you attractive - that's called rape.

over two years of this nonverbal stuff going on - isn't like yesterday or anything. yes he does ask me how I am doing and even jokes with me if he gets the chance (in a meeting/email etc).

...huh. Well he's just either very social and makes friends as he goes, or he's just plain weird. Or sees no reason why he should try as you don't give signals of any chance for reciprocation. Who knows.

Yes, that's it - it's almost an UNEASY FEELING IN YOUR GUT...like you almost want to throw up.

I usually don't mind making the first move but for some reason he makes me super nervous cause I like him so much. that eye gaze me fall in love with him, not kidding.
