I went out with my coworker and at the end I asked how she'd feel if I came into her life. She said she's quite a depressing person and she didn't want me to go through that, but I told her that it's fine. She also said she doesn't like smokers, but I let her know that I'll quit if my future wife doesn't like it.
This was our first date (altho we've been friends/ coworkers for 3 months), so I don't know if she's reluctant or rejecting me.

When a girl starts telling you negative things about herself, as if she's looking out for you and doesn't want to impose... run.
That's a HUGE red flag.
Even if it's not a gentle way to reject you and she actually does want to give you a chance, you'll quickly realize that she's the girl you thought she was and you should've avoided her in the beginning.
I had to learn to this lesson the hard way, unfortunately. Girls don't try to talk themselves out of a job for no reason. Trust me
*not the girl you thought she was
All that is is her setting the stage for an excuse to treat you like fucking shit
