I've never had a miscarriage so I'm not talking from experience. But if I tune into my natural maternal instincts, then I'd say there's nothing more painful than carrying life and then losing it. A part of you would feel responsible as you were the primary caregiver at that point in time. In the womb, a baby relies solely on the mother for growth. You begin to wonder who the child might have become or what sort of life they could have led. It is the pain of never knowing.

Put it this way. If you lost a lung or your heart, how would you feel? Empty, right? Isolated, numb, maybe even bitter.. because you've lost something that other people still have. You'd be wondering what you could have done differently to prevent the loss. There's a lot more to go into but that's my interpretation of a miscarriage. My condolences to anyone who has been through it and God forbid, anyone reading this experiences that sort of pain.

Oh gosh having never gone through this I can only imagine the pain a potential mother would feel like. I am not even sure I can speak on behalf of the women that have suffered this. To all of them I don't know your pain but can feel part of it. Angels get their wings one way or another.

Due to my sister having one mostly she felt guilt for not taking care of herself. It was hard but she knew she could have a healthy pregnancy the second time.

Well yeah she said she stressed to much and was doing way to much heavy lifting which causes you to lose your baby.

It must be scary being pregnant. And worrying everyday that somethings can happen

I'm going on a date with pregnant single mom. But she seems really wonderful plus I love kids. I'm not afraid to take a chance to help.

I'd say it's because as a woman it's one of the biggest things you're born to do so losing or going through that you feel as if you failed something that should be natural.

That’s a fair point. So it feels unnatural?

Just be supportive and know she's going through a lot right now and will be affected for awhile so just patience and understanding. Her hormones will also be out of whack for the next few months so give her time to adjust.

Because they feel like they could have done something to prevent it even If it's not preventable it still feels that way

What are some things? Like do they think of anything they did wrong

Things like stressing, working out to hard, not eating, having sex, just not treating her body right could make her worry if something made the miscarriage happen

Whoa that’s a lot to worry about. Like minus sitting in their room for nine months and only sleeping and eating.. seems a bit unfair she can’t live her life like others

But thanks for sharing some of the reasons why she could feel guilt after it happens. Does the guilt go away after time?

Don't think so. You just learn to live with the guilt and move on

Perhaps they think they didn’t do enough or think they didn’t properly take care of themselves.
