My coworker probably likes me but I don't like him back. How can I let him down gently without embarrassing him and myself?

He never told me that he likes me but it's obvious. I don't want to be very nice to him because I don't want to feel like I'm leading him on but I don't want to ignore him either because I think that would be just mean. How can I hint that I'm not interested? I can't straight out tell him to stop crushing on me as long as he doesn't admit it himself.
