A little boy got a brand new bike for Christmas and went outside to try it out. A few moments later, a mounted policeman came by, got off his horse and went over to talk to the boy.
"Is that a brand new bike?"
"It sure is!" the tyke proudly boasted.
"Did Santa just bring you that bike for Christmas?"
"He sure did!"
With that, the cop pulled out his ticket book and started filling out a ticket, handed the ticket to the kid and said, "Well, next time, tell Santa to put some reflectors on the front and back of it."
The, now, sad little boy, saw the policeman getting back on his horse and said, "Is that your horse?"
The cop said, "Yes, it is."
"Did Santa bring you that horse for Christmas?"
The cop chuckled lightly but, decided to play along. "Why, yes, he did!"
The boy said, "Well, next time, tell Santa the dick goes on the bottom!".
Very smart little girl.
When the whale swallowed Jonah, Jonah ran really hard away from the whale's mouth, and everything came out okay in the end.
The Bible doesn't mention a whale just a large sea creature. Most likely it was a great white shark. Sperm whales eat giant squid and they're bigger than humans.
It mentions ΧΧ ΧΧΧΧ, or great fish. Thanks for the sperm whale fact, but do they really swallow squids whole?
That would almost be a feat of impossibility! 😂😂😂

Sperm Whales can swallow a human though.
I know that this post should be funny but we have to acknowledge that a whale can swallow a human.
Not all but some whales can, The teacher was arrogant enough to not explain with reasoning.
I *love* it.
She's been taught to think for herself.
Even if she still believes in religious nonsense she's a smart girl and can work things out for herself. :-)
better than arguing with a feminist
they still believe that western countries have a literal rape culture
Iβd argue that it was a BIG FISH (ΧΧ ΧΧΧΧ) that swallowed Jonah. Maybe a megalodon? Iβve no doubt that Jonah really was swallowed by the aquatic monster, and also that at Jonahβs times, even sperm whales possibly had bigger throats.
I would inform the little girl that the Bible doesn't say a whale swallowed Jonah it says a great fish swallowed him, most likely a supernatural fish.
Wasn't there a video recently of a kayaker getting swallowed and the regurgitated by a whale?
The width of a whale's esophagus is about your fist. That kid is a religious moron.
"How sperm whales hunt jumbo squid. The largest predators in the world, sperm whales, have a voracious appetite for jumbo squid".
@strateguy632 that is literally the only species of whale that is capable of doing that. Absolutely all others have esophagus that are too narrow.
Well then the whale in jonah is probably a sperm whale but the teacher is over looking this and helped the girl learn nothing.
A kid is a kid but a teacher should know how to help kids learn.
Trying to outsmart a kid is childish.
Like you said a child not an adult, The teacher should been more thoughtful and professional.
In the end, I get your point and hope you get mine.
Have a good day.
@Juxtapose Actually, Juxtapose, between you and the kid, it is not her who is the moron. As Strateguy pointed out, the esophagus of a sperm whale does have the capability to swallow a human. So your argument is factually incorrect. Further, your inane rebuttal after being called out; βthat is literally the only species of whale that is capable of doing that. Absolutely all others have esophagus that are too narrow. at's 1 species out of 90.β is utterly pointless. Jonah was only swallowed by one sea creature. It does not matter one iota whether or not the other millions of creatures that did not swallow Jonah were capable of doing so.
Also, as others here have said, the Bible doesn't mention a whale, just a large sea creature.
@Juxtapose βA child was trying to present mythology as fact.β
No, you are trying to present your *opinion* that the account is mythology as fact. Your opinion is not fact. It is merely your personal *opinion*, and your opinion is worthless.
@Juxtapose βlol show me the actual evidence that the story is real because it's just bullshit fairy tales otherwise.β
No, *I* already asked *you* to show me the evidence that the story isnβt real, as you claimed. You said there are βnumerous problems with the storyβ, so what are they? So far you have presented nothing. The utter garbage that you have posted here so far has been shown up to be blatantly wrong.
@Juxtapose βImagine actually treating the Bible is anything but mythologyβ
Imagine actually being completely ignorant of the fact that Biblical accounts have been repeatedly verified by science and archaeology as being accurate, and events and people in the Bible confirmed as having existed exactly as described in the Bible. Iβm not sure you understand the meaning of βmythologyβ.
There are sea creatures such as sperm whales and great white sharks that can swallow a person whole (as Shortster said, there is a video of a sperm whale swallowing and regurgitating a kayaker), and both live in the Mediterranean Sea where Jonah was swallowed. Those are the FACTS, there is your EVIDENCE. The statement that YOU came out with is completely and utterly factually incorrect.
βbecause it's just bullshit fairy tales otherwise.β
And again, your personal opinion is worthless.
No, the burden of proof is on YOU, Juxtapose. You were the one who made the erroneous claim that the account was false because the βwidth of a whale's esophagus is about your fistβ, which is utter nonsense. Then on the basis of your false premise, you proceeded to state that the βkid is a religious moron.β You were shown up, and it was explained to you why you are factually wrong. You then proceeded to make the affirmative claim that βthere are numerous other problems with the story of Jonahβ, yet when asked to provide an example, couldnβt produce a single one.
@Kasabiian it's a religious myth and the burden of proof is always on the theist because you guys are the ones who make the ridiculous claims.
No, Jonah was not swallowed by a whale and then lived in the whale for 3 days. God is not real and does not perform miracles, you believe in lies.
@Juxtapose βyou are citing a fairy taleβ
Once again, your personal opinion is worthless.
βthat is not verified by a peer-reviewed scientific journal.β
Clearly, you have no idea what a peer-reviewed scientific journal is.
In a general sense, peer-reviewed scientific journals do not have the processes to prove or disprove the existence of God. Scientific studies attempt to explain only the natural world while God is supernatural, and therefore outside the realm of scientific study. However, in the specific case of Jonah, scientific evidence does show that a sea creatures such as great white sharks or sperm whales can swallow a man whole, and that both live in the Mediterranean Sea, as previously discussed. YOUR claim, on the other hand, that the event could not have happened because βthe width of a whale's esophagus is about your fistβ is utterly false, according to scientific fact.
@Juxtapose βlol the Bible literally stole the resurrection story and whatnot from other religions.β
The topic of this page is the account of Jonah. And you havenβt even managed to provide the slightest evidence to support your claims for this one, single subject. Try to stay focused on that, without getting distracted, if at all possible.
βIt's complete nonsense.β
Yet again, your personal opinion is worthless. You claim that the Bible is βnonsenseβ, βfairytalesβ, and βmythologyβ. You make statements but have absolutely no facts to back them up with. Your one attempt to actually provide a supporting argument was an abject failure as it was shown to be factually incorrect. Now, either put up or shut up.
@Juxtapose itβs a religious mythβ
Itβs your personal opinion that itβs a religious myth. And as we have already established, your personal opinion is worthless.
@Juxtapose
βand the burden of proof is always on the theistβ
Lol. Wrong. Firstly, the existence of God is not dependent on the belief of humans. He isnβt like the land of Fantasia in the Neverending Story movie that disappears if people stop believing in it. He doesnβt require proof, or for you to believe in him for his existence.
Next, even famous evolutionists from Darwin to Dawkins have admitted that life appears to be designed. So, the burden of proof is on atheists to explain why they donβt accept the evidence of design.
@Juxtapose And again, the burden of proof is also on you since you were the one who falsely claimed that Jonah couldnβt possibly have been swallowed due to the size of a whaleβs esophagus, which, according to scientific fact, is utter nonsense. Then on the basis of your false premise, you proceeded to state that the βkid is a religious moron.β You were shown up, it was explained to you why you are factually wrong. You then proceeded to make the affirmative claim that βthere are numerous other problems with the story of Jonahβ, yet when asked to provide an example, was incapable of doing so. So, the burden on proof is on you, whoβs laughable statements that you presented as fact, have been proved wrong.
@Juxtapose βNo, Jonah was not swallowed by a whale and then lived in the whale for 3 days. God is not real and does not perform miracles, you believe in lies.β
*Sigh* And again, your personal opinion is utterly worthless. You are simply making vacuous statements with nothing to back them up with. In other words, you are a clown who cannot be taken seriously.
@Juxtapose βGreat claims require great evidence and you have nothing but a book of myths.β
Again, your personal opinion is worthless and is based on ignorance. The Bible contains countless historical details that have been verified by archaeological evidence, so cannot be regarded as βa book of mythsβ by anyone who actually knows what they are talking about.
@Juxtapose βIt's awfully rich that you're talking about factsβ
Why? I have used verifiable facts supported by science. You, on the other hand, have been shown up to be factually wrong on almost everything you assert.
@Juxtapose β when you fully admit that science discards religion in its entirety because it's superstitious nonsenseβ
Show me where did I βfully admitβ that science discards religion? I suggest that you go back and actually READ what I wrote. Science does not βdiscard religion in its entirety because itβs superstitious nonsense.β To quote eminent scientist Allan Sandage: βIt was my science that drove me to the conclusion that the world is much more complicated than can be explained by science. It is only through the supernatural that I can understand the mystery of existence.β
@Juxtapose Science is limited to studying the natural world. God exists outside of the natural world.
God is not bound by the laws of physics that he himself created.
Godβs is a spirit person, his domain is in the spirit world, a realm not possible to explore with the tools of science. Science is a tool for understanding and explaining the mechanisms and dynamics of the physical universe. God exists outside of the physical universe that he created. If he did not, he would not be God.
God is not a scientific theory.
@Juxtapose βIf you cannot prove to me through the scientific method that this happened, I am not going to believe you.β
First, you evidently have no idea how the scientific method works. It is a method used by scientists to investigate the natural world; it does not βproveβ or disprove things.
Second, your adherence to the scientific method is interesting, given that it was first devised by Muslim mathematician Ibn al-Haytham, then developed by Christian scientists such Aquinas, Copernicus, Galileo, Francis Bacon, Johannes Kepler, Isaac Newton - all of whom were PROFOUNDLY RELIGIOUS. Oops. There goes that argument.
Third, it is a known fact that sperm whales and great white sharks can swallow a man whole. It is also a proven fact that both live in the Mediterranean Sea where Jonah was swallowed.
Finally, Iβm not sure where you get the notion from that I have an obligation to prove anything to you, or that I could care less whether you believe me or not. Iβm not here to convince you of anything. My purpose here, for any honest, thinking person who cares to read it, is to refute the utter drivel you wrote about the account of Jonah being a βmythβ that couldnβt have happened due to the size of a whale's esophagus. I have presented scientific facts, you have offered nothing but worthless personal opinions and lame arguments that have proved to be illogical or plainly false. It is YOU who is βtrying to present mythology as factβ.
Perhaps the punch line will be shown to us another day.
The best way to deal with such people is to say ok and carry on whith your work
Thatβs funny. Thank you for the smile
Praise God for the faith of a child
I would beat her ass. Cheeky little brat!
