I prefer if a guy approaches me and keeps it simple like are you having a good night so far (If I am working) and then make some small talk. I am always impressed by those that can cut off conversation when they see I am busy and wait to pick it up again when I am not. Shows me they have patience and really do wanna talk since they are willing to wait.
