Guys, what do you think if/when a woman calls you handsome?

I am curious to know what is your first thought when a woman calls you handsome? Do you feel flattered, or you get the idea she’s into you for calling you that? What do you think if she calls you this?

(Personally I don’t call a man handsome, smart, or well mannered IF I don’t really think he really is any of those, but I’ve had experiences when guys automatically think I’m flirting... so are the words suggestive or what is it? )

Men receive far fewer compliments from women than the reverse. Furthermore, it's a physical compliment. As for whether the guy takes it as flirting, generally he will, because it's so rare and it's an ego boost.

Of course, it also depends on his mental state and his self esteem. I don't think I would have taken it as just a compliment when I was younger because I wanted a girlfriend super badly.

If she really means it then I love it. Women rarely compliment men but expect men to shower them with compliments. If I can believe her that is really amazing feeling. However, the rare times a woman does it, I think it is because they feel obligated just because the guy said they were beautiful.

I wouldn't say that they are suggestive. But I also know that men receive far fewer compliments than women do. Handsome is a physical trait and thus if someone says that, it's not impossible to link it with flirting.

I think it is also situational. At a business event it's rather clear it's not flirting. But in a bar or night club then giving a physical compliment is more in line with flirting.

Damn I dunno. I've only ever been called cute or hot, not handsome. If someone did call me handsome, I wouldn't necessary think they're into me, but take it as a compliment.

I feel flatterd but iam always passive with my actions towards girls saying that because it gives me the feeling they just want you to feel good. And most of the time girls just say this and dont mean anything else with it. Correct me if i'am wrong

I only ever get compliments from women that are old enough to be my mother, so i would be skeptical if someone in the age range i would date, 18 to 36.
