Are there women that get creeped out or offended if a guy compliments her looks?

Why would a woman, if she's single. feel creeped out if a random guy compliments her by seeing a shirt or her hair or necklace that catches his attention?

I am sure there are women that get creeped out. You'd have to hear it from them as to why. I don't. I think to an extent I am desensitized by it because I bartend while I work my way through school. The things guys will say to me with a little bit of liquid courage in them. Even without I get hit on. I don't take offense to a compliment unless it is vulgar and rude. Otherwise I will smile and say thank you or whatever. It isn't really a big deal.
