I am just ready to give up. One of my coworkers doesn’t seem like she likes me too much. I did NOTHING to her. Let’s call her Sarah. So Sarah started working at the store we work at over the summer and we got along fine but then later on, she started to get very distant towards me. Like when I say good morning, she’ll give me a dull hi or ignore me. She gets along with the others and she’ll speak to them. I tried so hard to compliment her sometimes and be kind. Sarah will say thanks but she doesn’t look at me. I don’t know if it’s my height (5’11”) or if I’m autistic. I’m high functioning autistic. Like when I strike up a conversation, Sarah always gives me one word answers and when I say bye to her she quickly say it and rush to another coworker. She only chats with me when it’s work related but when it’s outside she ignored me and NEVER looks at me when I talk to her. I don’t get it, we got alone fine during the summer but now she won’t interact with me, or gets annoyed when I’m around. I don’t know if it was before she found out I was autistic. I asked her how her weekend was and she said, “Okay I guess”. And when the others asked her, she said she had an amazing weekend. WTF? I just go on and do my job and won’t even speak to her for the rest of the day or the year. Who doesn’t she talk to me? I don’t harass her. I give her space.
Why does someone not wanting to interact with me and interact with others hurt so bad?

One day when you're both alone ask her for some advice
Tell her that you have a friend
And tell her that you see her everyday
Tell her that you really like this person and you thought you were friends
Tell her that you feel as if you guys don't interact anymore together because for some reason you feel as if you're getting a cold shoulder
Ask her what she would do in this situation
And then explain it to her the way that you see it
But you also have to remember sometimes in life just because we think something doesn't mean that we're right it might be something completely different
So that's why you never give up
Because you're giving up on only yourself and why would you do that you need to have the answers that you're looking for
Look I get what you’re saying but I have tried. I have made efforts to have a conversation with her but she always gives me one word answers and she talks to the other staff. She loves talking to them. When we all have Work conversation she looks at everyone else but she doesn’t look at me. She never asks me how I am or how my weekend is anymore so why bother trying anymore? Autism ruined my life!

Well, I never told her so it isn’t my fault. That’s no reason for her to ignore me. Most people told me it’s uncomfortable being around me and I did NOTHING.

Well shitty people not wanting anything to do with you is a blessing but why is someone that is so kind and loving not wanting to do with me a blessing. She isn’t a shitty person, she is actually one of most sweetest people you ever meet and most people like her and she loves chatting with the other but when I come in the room she gives me an annoyed look or rolls her eyes. I don’t understand we got along over the summer and now she just won’t look at me and quickly move away to the next personz
