Why does a Person I don't like keep trying to interact with me?

I have an annoying, weird coworker i have to sit next to daily who keeps persisting to talk to me. I don't know how much more clear i can get. I ignore the guy, I give him an attitude, I've told him to leave me alone it has been several months and he either does not understand that or doesn't care. This guy is late everyday and doesn't work, now suddenly he's up my butt way too concerned with me. He keeps looking at me and keeps trying to "save me" from getting in trouble. I don't care if he likes me or not he's a creep and doesn't understand social cues. Im pregnant and he still won't leave me alone. Everything i do he has to comment on... what do I do? I don't want to report him for harassment, and other co-workers sees him as a "sweetheart" but all of us so sit near him can't stand him.

I wouldn’t say he’s harassing you he just sounds annoying af. To which I’d say report this to your higher ups whether it’s a manager or HR. Ask to work alongside someone different or whatever they can do to move you away from this guy. I’d also suggest being more blunt with this guy. You don’t have to be mean or rude but something like ‘hey I’m really trying to focus and get this done, can we chat later?’ Or excuse yourself when you can. Engage minimally or not at all. These are just my suggestions as I also deal with an overly-talkative, overbearing coworker with zero social cues.

He's stubborn and hard headed, and you might have to tell him off publicly and make a scene to embarrass him.
