How did you feel when you changed from a shy child into a more popular one?

I remember I was shy and nerdy before 13-14 and when at 14, suddenly I got the attention that I wasn’t used to before, I was so surprised, thinking

“Who? Me?”

I was finding it hard to believe I was suddenly in the center of attention.

To be honest, while I enjoyed it. I never quite got used to it. I always felt like I was still shy inside.

i did at 14 i felt like a complete bitch from that point. popular kids are complete bullies and terrible people most of the time. being poular isn't that imortant. its actually quit distructive. so many kids get injured from it. from either drugs, alchohol, cigarettes, or even some stupid tiktok chalange. and i remember thats when i completely stopped working at school and my grades dropped.

I consider myself both an introvert and an extrovert nowadays. i used to be very shy. now that im a bit more open i do feel a sense of freedom and a bit less lonely or closed off from other people then i ever did. i just don't mind now if someone wants to chat with me or if i need to chat with them even if we barely said much to each other.

We're all human beings and we likely have a lot to relate with each other for. Confidence is nice and can do wonders for you.

I got my first girlfriend when I was 19. I was a freshman in college and I never thought I would ever find anyone who would like me as anything more than a friend. I think it gave me some confidence and I dis not feel like such a loser. I think that when I drove around in my car and she sat close to me (this is when cars had bench seats) and held my hand while I drove that it sort of hit me that I was doing this just like the cool kids.

That was unexpected. At 13, I had secret crush on handsome boy at school and never imagined him noticing me and at 14, when I went back to school from holidays suddenly every guy who I have ever had a crush on, started crushing on me. I was wondering what happened

Felt good but also weird, then I got used to that but I was always still a nerd deep down

I only got that much later in life and I liked it, but my heart had begun to change. I don't like too much attention and responsiblity, creates stress I don't know how to handle. I don't belong in front of the microphone.
