I wish men were as accepting of this hairstyle for women as we are of them. The female population is much more accepting of buzz-cut or bald men (whatever their reasons for choosing this hairstyle), so we accept it.

Men, in general, find it at best, unbecoming and at worst, ugly.

But, women have valid reasons for shaving their hair off. Women can have hereditary hair loss just as men do and some have medical issues that cause it to fall out.

What are these women supposed to do? What options do these women have?

1.) We can live with the receding hairline or the bald patches. But we will lose more and more confidence the more it recedes and the less hair we have.

2.) We can be proactive, as men do, and get a buzz-cut or shave it off, but again we all know how men feel about that hairstyle on a woman. So again, our confidence fades quickly.

3.) Oh, I know... we can keep what little hair we have left but start wearing a wig, but well... affordable wigs look cheap. And most of us don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on those fantastic-looking wigs made with real hair.

And... what do we do when we find a guy that we really like? How do you tell him? "The woman you're with, you know all this hair, well... it's not really mine. Here let me take the wig off and show you the real me, the ugly me. Wait... WAIT! Where are you going? Why are you running out the door? When would have been the right time to tell you that I was bald?"

But she is talking to herself because the man she thought loved her for her, didn't really know the real her. I can't count how many times the question has been asked and answered on this site alone. Men want long soft, silky hair on a woman.

Hair transplant surgery is considered a cosmetic procedure and therefore is not typically covered by insurance, even when used for hair loss due to a medical condition or medication.

Women in particular have a harder time with hair transplants for a couple of reasons. If there are not enough hair follicles on the nape or if the hair is too thin, there may be no donor site to draw hairs from. This is especially complicated because the average woman shaves her body, so she typically doesn't have hair in other places that could be suitable donor sites found on a man. If the patient has chronic telogen effluvium or alopecia areata, they are also unlikely to be recommended for hair transplants.

Also while possible, using pubic hair in other parts of the body or the scalp is generally a last resort, when hair from other areas is sparse or depleted. It's much more common to transplant hair to the pubic area, rather than to take hair from the area.

Yeah hey, nobody said you're not allowed to shave it off... go for it! But just because you had to do it or because you felt like that was the thing to do, it doesn't mean men have to accept it and magically be attracted to it.

@adam6402 Yeah, I didn't say that you did have to. I just said that I wish that men were more accepting of women who decided for whatever reason to cut their hair like this or to shave it off. You have no idea why a woman would have cut it that way without asking her, same as a woman has no idea why a man has his hair cut that way... yet most women have no problem with accepting a man with a buzz-cut or a shaved head.

Nah bro, looks like you're fresh outa the clink. Plus, girls with buzzed hair give off that masculine or lesbian look and I'm just not about that.

My auntie has been riddled with cancer for 13 years and lost all her hair to chemotherapy so I understand that some women have no option and I'm sympathetic of them, but that still doesn't mean I like how it looks. It looks terrible.
