Girls, She texts me "hey" and then doesn't really respond?

Hi all, I've been "talking" to somebody that texts me in a fashion I'm not used to.

There are days where she'll text me "hi!" or something else super short, or sometimes a question (like "hi how is your weekend?"). What I've noticed the past 2 weeks is that after I respond, she sometimes doesn't reply back at all. It's happened about 4-5 times now, and I'm super confused on how she expects me to respond. Am I supposed to double text her (even though I never do)? All help appreciated!

She’s just stringing you along. Regardless if she gets busy or just forgets to text back.. she’s being inconsiderate of you and your feelings. If she wanted to.. she would. She sees your messages and ignores them. I would text her, “hey what’s up, I’m confused if you wanna keep talking or not, let me know today and if not, have a great day.” If it doesn’t work out then it’s okay, it’s not like she was in your life really anyway.. find someone he actually cares.

A girl used to do that to me. She’d ask me how I’m doing or say hey. And 9 out of 10 times, when I’d say hey back or ask how she’s doing in return, she’d never respond until days-weeks later where she’d send another “hey” message. Eventually I just removed her from my socials and stopped giving her my time.
