A female friend started to joke about being my girlfriend but also sometimes say we are besties... can she be interested?

Got to know this coworker via another coworker/friend on a trip. Went on a group trip twice before she moved to the city and we started hanging out just a little more. A few months in, she then asked "would you be my boyfriend" in front of all her friends and she would repeatedly (sometimes but not always) reference me as her boyfriend when we are texting or during a conversation. However, she sometimes also say we are travel besties or besties while taking selfies together when hanging out 1-1.

In recent months, I've started to hang out with her a lot more, especially 1-1, and I would flirt with her very often and she would tease me back. I am 100% sure she knows I like her - we would share a bed on a group trip (nothing happened obviously), make inferences during a conversation that I like her etc...

Getting real mixed signals on this and I do plan on just asking her out and see but just want to get a pulse check first

She's would lean on my shoulder on a plane, standing next to each other and gets really touchy (thighs, back, arms, neck etc.) when she's drunk (she is a drunk-touchy person in general but i think she's def touches me more).

She's also recently asked if i have a crush in general (while saying she has a couple), how i would propose...

All signs are the ones of a person that may have a crush on you but she is too shy to want to ever admit it. What she is aiming at with her hints is that you take the initiative to mention that you are infatuated in that lady but you, as introvert, as equally too shy to make the first move.

And that is how potential relationships are failing because none of the parties want to make the first move and expects the other one to do it. When both are introvert types of people, misunderstandings and lack of courage will result in getting results.

If you want something to happen, then you will have to make the move because she gave you enough hints.

What i know is if person is joking about this but never acts on its its a fucking red flag and being a jerk.

Honestly if you want the answer you’re looking for, you’re gonna have to be direct and pop the question. What you don't want to do, is continue this not knowing if that person feels the same way as you, eventually leading to nothing. The longer you wait the more it stings if its just a friendship to her. If she feels the same, cool, but if not, then you know where you stand.
