Im a guy and obviously I have a crush on this girl. Lately she's has been a bit more touchy with me it started with a brush on my back shoulder at a Christmas party when she was passing by. Then a week later she put a sticker on my left pectoral or man boob but like kept tapping repeatedly. On new years she gave me a hug and took a selfie with me.

Now It would seem like all the right signs but then she refers to me as bestie around others. I haven't seen her for 2 weeks and when she saw me at work she was happy to see me and gave me a hug and again called me bestie but she does this thing where she looks down quickly at me and back at my eyes and it was the 2nd time she did that.

So im confused am I just someone she can talk to or does she have potential Interest in me? Please help from both sides🙏

You are the backup plan. She has you in the friend zone corral in case she ends up dumped and feeling lonely. Your job is to provide validation for her and make her feel good about herself.

There's nothing wrong with being friends as long as you aren't picking up the phone every time she calls or replying to every text in minutes or running over to her place to fix a leaky sink.

And frankly, she's not required to return your feelings just because you have a crush on her. You may be putting her between a rock and a hard place.

If she's calling you "bestie" in public, call her "buddy". See how she reacts to that. Don't read anything into the touching. Don't go out of your way to run into her. Don't go running over to hug her when you do see her. High five her instead with a "hey buddy, how's it going?" She's just one of the guys. No special treatment. Let her know you got the message and let her live with the limited attention from a guy she's labeled a "bestie". But most of all, don't be buying her drinks, meals, or anything else.

As for you my brother from another mother you have been FRIEND ZONED by your work wife & with all honesty she is not ready to call you her boyfriend so she is calling you her bestie. It’s possible she has a boyfriend or is dating someone else & if you don’t really know her there could be other reasons as well. Well, if she calls you "bestie", then "bestie" you are and not boyfriend or anything else.

She likes you in a platonic way and putting stickers on your pectorals does not yet make her be in love with you. Those are all childish behaviors more than anything else and I think you should leave it the way it is and not dwell upon something that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Also, parties are usually crowded and her brushing your back shoulder is something that is likely going to happen in such crowded places.

"a bit more touchy" sounds pretty obvious to me. noone i know has been "a bit more touchy" with any boys, yet, but we've talked about similar things among my friends. what's the worst that can happen? being besties is better than not to be besties. i think generally, you can stay friends even if you say sth stupid every once in a while.
